Articulate Review 360 alternatives in 2026: an honest comparison
Review 360 only comes inside a $1,449+/seat suite and only reviews Articulate content. The honest alternatives - including Review My eLearning ($29/mo, reviewers free, works with courses from any tool: Storyline, Captivate, Lovable, Bolt, Claude) - and when staying put wins.
Review 360 is a good tool. If your team lives inside Articulate 360 and the budget is settled, this post is not for you - keep using it. This is for the two situations where it stops working: the price of the suite around it, and the moment a course comes from anywhere Articulate doesn't make.
Why teams look for alternatives
- It is not sold on its own. Review 360 comes inside Articulate 360, which starts at $1,449 per seat per year ($1,749 for the AI tier). If review is the part you need, that is a lot of suite to buy for it.
- It only reviews Articulate content. You publish to Review 360 from Storyline, Rise, Studio, Peek or Replay. A course built in Captivate or Lectora - or generated with an AI tool like Lovable, Bolt, or Claude - has no way in.
- It leaves when you leave. Switch authoring tools and the review workflow goes with the subscription. Your feedback history, and the habit your reviewers learned, both reset.
To be fair to it: stakeholders comment in a browser without buying seats of their own, and for Articulate-only shops the workflow is genuinely smooth. The question is whether the authoring-side price and the lock-in work for you.
The alternatives
Review My eLearning (ours - so read this as biased)
Starts at $29/month, and reviewers are free and unlimited on every plan. It works with a course built in any tool. Storyline, Rise, Captivate, Lectora - or an AI builder like Lovable, Bolt, or Claude. If it exports SCORM or HTML5, upload the package and reviewers comment right on the exact screen. We have a walkthrough for AI-built courses here. Every comment is a tracked, assignable work item, so feedback stops living in email and Word docs. AI reviewers (Beta) are included on all plans for an automated first pass before your stakeholders see the course. Teams have left more than 2 million comments across 152,000+ courses in over 15 years. The 14-day trial needs no credit card.
zipBoard
From $99/month. A visual proofing tool that covers SCORM courses plus websites, videos and PDFs. The team plan includes unlimited collaborators and reviewers, with one manager seat (extra managers $25/month each). Strong annotation and bug-tracking features. It is more general-purpose than course-specific, which cuts both ways: broader coverage, less eLearning workflow depth.
ReviewLink
Free with Lectora. If your shop builds in Lectora, ReviewLink is already paid for and integrates with the Lectora publish flow. If you don't use Lectora, it isn't an option at all.
Staying on Review 360
The honest fourth option. If every course you ship is Storyline or Rise and the company already pays for 360 seats, switching review tools adds friction for nothing. Stay put.

How to choose
Three questions settle most of it:
- Where do your courses actually come from? If the answer is more than one authoring tool - or includes AI builders like Lovable, Bolt, or Claude - you need a review layer that is tool-independent. Otherwise you end up with one review process per tool, which is no process at all.
- What does each reviewer cost you? The expensive part of course review should never be the reviewer. SMEs, clients and stakeholders should comment free, or feedback quietly moves back to email.
- Does the workflow survive a tool switch? Authoring tools change. Your review process, your comment history and your reviewers' habits should outlive any single subscription.
If you want to test the tool-independent option, start a free 14-day trial - no credit card required. Upload a course, invite your toughest SME, and see how the first review round compares.
